QCD at finite isospin chemical potential: Reweighting

We investigate a two-flavor quark system with opposite chemical potentials. Simulations of these isospin systems are not hindered by the sign problem. By introducing an auxiliary parameter, it is possible to simulate in the pion condensation phase by circumventing small eigenvalues of the Dirac operator. The obtained results can then be used to gain information about systems with nonzero baryonic densities and to further explore the QCD phase diagram via reweighting in the auxiliary parameter and the chemical potentials. Of special interest is the particular choice of the auxiliary and target ensemble to optimize the reweighting step associated with the chemical potentials.
